About

I’m certainly no expert on much of anything, but I have lived quite a bit of everyday life up to this point. For a lot of years I have worked, furthered my education, raised kids and followed them all over for extra-curricular activities, cooked, cleaned, and tried to get some sleep when I can. Over time I came up with some planning and organizational strategies that just worked for me and my family so that we could survive – and hopefully thrive – through the daily rhythms of life.

I’ve never really thought too much about what I do. It’s just what I do! At least not until recently. One morning at church, kind of out of the blue, a young newlywed (Thanks Katie!) asked me about my cooking. She asked how I planned things out. I’m not sure how or why she even knew to ask me that. In hindsight, I think maybe that was God’s way of starting me down the path to this blog, because it was definitely not on my radar or in my wheelhouse AT ALL!

I told her that I plan out my meals for two weeks at a time, most of the time. She said that the planning was her struggle. I told her I would be glad to share my plan and recipes with her, and I did. I also told her that we were pretty basic and that I didn’t cook anything that would be considered fancy or gourmet. The next week she told me how much she appreciated what I had shared with her. That really got me thinking that maybe there were others out there who could benefit from my “seasoned” advice and ideas.

Soooo….here we are. I honestly am not sure exactly where all of this is going, but I know that I need to do this. My plan is to share my menus (and recipes, when appropriate) every couple of weeks. As this progresses and my knowledge base increases, I hope to share little helps and hints that I have picked up along the way that might be useful to you as you navigate through your own daily routine.

That’s it. Thank you for coming on this journey with me, and I hope that what I share is helpful and useful to you as we manage the mundane together.
